Seattle - The Port of Seattle today joined the national coalition We Are Still In, the alliance of governments, colleges, and businesses committed to meeting the greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals of the Paris Agreement to combat climate change.

Airbus signs strategic partnership with ONERA and DLR

Paris - Airbus has signed a partnership with two leading European Research facilities, ONERA (French Aerospace Research Center) and DLR (German Aerospace Center) during an official ceremony at Paris Air Show. The partnership was signed by Charles Champion (Executive Vice-President Engineering Airbus), Thierry Michal (ONERA General Technical Director) and Professor Rolf Henke (DLR Executive Board Member for Aeronautics Research).

Airbus presents the A380plus

Toulouse - Airbus is presenting a development study for an enhanced A380, the “A380plus”. The study includes aerodynamic improvements in particular new, large winglets and other wing refinements that allow for up to 4% fuel burn savings. Added to an optimised A380 maintenance programme and the enhanced cabin features first shown at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in April, the overall benefit is a 13% cost per seat reduction versus today’s A380.

Finavia supports the international climate agreement through its climate programme

Helsinki - Finavia has decided to speed up its ambitious climate programme. The aim is to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the operations of all of the company's 21 airports to zero by 2020. Through its airport network, Finavia is a key party to the commitment of European airport companies to have 100 carbon-neutral airports in Europe by 2030.
